Supporting Our Trails: A Vision for the Future

The Vasa Pathway is a vital part of the incredible and ever-growing trail network that defines the Grand Traverse region. As our climate changes and the need for improved infrastructure becomes more urgent, we're working with partners to strengthen trail maintenance and access across the entire regional network. We also want to elevate the quality of winter grooming operations for the long term.

Current Initiatives

We're focusing on two key projects to achieve these goals:

  • Timber Ridge Trail Maintenance Facility: We're building a state-of-the-art facility that will be a hub for year-round trail maintenance.
  • Bartlett Road Trailhead Revitalization: This project will improve access and enhance the user experience at a crucial trailhead.

Benefits for Our Community

These initiatives will do more than just benefit the Vasa network; they'll support year-round trail maintenance and access throughout the Northern Michigan Mountain Bike Association (NMMBA) and TART Trails networks. By investing in these projects, we can improve the four-season trail experience for everyone, ensuring that people of all ages and abilities can enjoy our trails for generations to come.
